Alchemist is one of the few free characters in in the game. He unlocks at Level 23 after Papa gives the Player a series of quests to complete in order to obtain him. Once the quest comes to go find Alchemist in the forest, Papa will ask ythe player to send some smurfs on the journey. After their return, the smurfs come back with Alchemist Smurf.
Alchemist roams around the Main Village and has his own set of quests. His first quest let's the Player upgrade Papa Smurf's hut for 500 
in order to live with Papa Smurf. This upgrade let's the player play the more difficult stages of Papa Smurf's Potion Mixing with the yellow potion, green potionand orange potion. Furthermore, the Player can also separately purchase the magic flask which is unlocked for 20 
and helps the player in the minigame.
The upgrate of Papa's House also changes it's look. The roof of the hut switches from a red to the same white with yellow star pattern, just like Alchemists cap.
